Advanced Professional Certificate in Behaviour Guidance, Social-Emotional Learning & Positive Discipline
The Advanced Professional Certificate in Behaviour Guidance, Social-Emotional Learning & Positive
Discipline equips educators to foster safe, emotionally literate and well-regulated learning
environments.
Course Overview
The Advanced Professional Certificate in Behaviour Guidance, Social-Emotional Learning & Positive
Discipline equips educators to foster safe, emotionally literate and well-regulated learning
environments. Informed by the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF), social-emotional
learning (SEL) research and restorative/positive discipline models, the programme integrates
developmental psychology, SEL frameworks, proactive classroom management, restorative
responses, family partnerships and data-informed interventions—so behaviour is guided with
dignity, care and clarity, and learners build the skills to succeed in school and life.
Why This Course is Important?
- Learning-ready classrooms: Predictable routines and positive behaviour support increase time on task and achievement.
- Whole-child development: SEL and relational practice improve wellbeing, resilience and long-term life outcomes.
- Inclusion and equity: Culturally responsive, trauma-aware and strengths-based approaches reduce exclusion and disproportionality.
- Professional confidence: Clear frameworks, tools and language for staff, leaders and families to respond consistently.
