Advanced Professional Certificate in Early Years Curriculum & Learning Environment Design (Indoor/Outdoor & Nature Play)
The Advanced Professional Certificate in Early Years Curriculum & Learning Environment Design
(Indoor/Outdoor & Nature Play) equips educators to design rich, coherent early years curricula and
learning environments that promote exploration.
Course Overview
The Advanced Professional Certificate in Early Years Curriculum & Learning Environment Design
(Indoor/Outdoor & Nature Play) equips educators to design rich, coherent early years curricula and
learning environments that promote exploration, wellbeing and deep learning. Informed by the UK
Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) and contemporary early childhood pedagogy, the
programme integrates curriculum frameworks, play-based learning, indoor and outdoor
environment design, nature and loose-parts play, observation and assessment, inclusion, and family
partnerships—so young children experience carefully planned, joyful learning that builds secure
foundations.
Why This Course is Important?
- Deep learning through play: Well-designed environments and experiences enable language, thinking, social–emotional and physical development.
- Coherent curriculum: Clear intentions and progression pathways prevent gaps and repetition across the early years.
- Nature and wellbeing: Outdoor and nature play support regulation, resilience, health and connection with the environment.
- Quality evidence: Structured planning, observation and documentation strengthen inspection and accreditation profiles.
