Professional Certificate in Early Childhood Development & Play-Based Pedagogy (0–6 Years)
A practice-centred programme that equips educators and carers to design developmentally
appropriate, play-based learning for children aged 0–6 years. Grounded in established early years.
Course Overview
A practice-centred programme that equips educators and carers to design developmentally
appropriate, play-based learning for children aged 0–6 years. Grounded in established early years
frameworks (EYFS-informed, with awareness of Reggio, Montessori, and HighScope approaches), the
course blends child development, observation & assessment, learning environment design, and
inclusive practice—so learners can create safe, joyful, and purposeful experiences that nurture the
whole child.
Why This Course is Important?
- Brain development window: Birth–6 is critical for cognition, language, SEL, and self- regulation.
- Play as learning: Structured play links curiosity to foundational literacy, numeracy, and executive function.
- Quality & safety: Professional practice in safeguarding, health, hygiene, and inclusive pedagogy raises outcomes.
