delivers “Core of Knowledge” awareness—laser/IPL physics, hazards, controls, ocular safety,
patient/client selection, parameter setting within device IFUs, documentation, and incident
response—so treatments are delivered consistently, ethically, and in compliance with insurer and
regulatory expectations.

- Conduct client screening (history, medications, Fitzpatrick typing), decide to proceed/defer/refer, and obtain informed consent.
- Perform test patches, interpret skin responses, and select device parameters within non- medical scope and IFU limits.
- Execute hygienic, disciplined procedures: room zoning, eyewear management, skin preparation, endpoint recognition, post-care.
- Prevent and manage adverse events (excess erythema, blistering, burns); document and escalate appropriately.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation: treatment records, batch/lot & maintenance logs, eyewear registers, room checks.
