Professional Diploma in Airport Customer Experience, Passenger Services & Baggage Operations
The Professional Diploma in Airport Customer Experience, Passenger Services & Baggage
Operations develops the complete capability needed to design, manage, and continuously improve
the passenger journey.
Course Overview
The Professional Diploma in Airport Customer Experience, Passenger Services & Baggage
Operations develops the complete capability needed to design, manage, and continuously improve
the passenger journey across the terminal — from curbside/entry and check-in to boarding and
baggage delivery. It integrates service excellence, IATA passenger handling standards, PRM and
special categories, disruption/service recovery, baggage performance (mishandled baggage
reduction), and cross-functional coordination with ramp, load control, and security/immigration
stakeholders.
The programme reflects the operational intent of IATA passenger services guidelines, AHM/IGOM
baggage processes, ACI passenger experience frameworks, and typical airline/airport SLAs —
making it suitable for airports, airline stations, ground handling agents (GHAs), and aviation
academies that need a documented, international-standard training pathway for passenger-facing
managers.
Why This Course is Important?
- Passenger experience is now a KPI: Airports and airlines are rated on waiting time, courtesy, information, and baggage delivery — not only OTP.
- Terminal operations are multi-agency: Customer experience managers must align airline, GHA, airport, security, immigration, and retail.
- Baggage performance affects reputation and cost: Reducing mishandled/delayed bags immediately improves NPS and airline satisfaction.
- Career progression: This diploma supports roles such as terminal duty manager, passenger services manager, customer experience lead, and station quality manager.
