Certified Aviation Ground Operations & Safety Professional (CAGOSP)
The CAGOSP certification validates that a professional can plan, supervise, and control airport/airline
ground operations safely, on time, and in full compliance with international aviation practices.
Course Overview
The CAGOSP certification validates that a professional can plan, supervise, and control airport/airline
ground operations safely, on time, and in full compliance with international aviation practices. It
brings together the key competency areas from ramp and apron safety, aircraft turnaround, load
control interface, passenger/baggage coordination, SMS/ISAGO requirements, incident reporting,
and SLA/KPI management — confirming that the holder can operate at duty officer / ground
operations supervisor / station operations level.
The certification is designed to be recognised by airports, airlines, and ground handling agents
(GHAs) that demand documented, auditable competence for airside roles.
Why This Course is Important?
- Safety-critical environment: Aircraft, GSE, fuelling, and people operate in very tight spaces; only certified staff should supervise.
- Customer and audit pressure: Airlines and airports increasingly require ISAGO-/IATA-aligned training and evidence of competency.
- Mobility across stations: A UK-issued, aviation-specific certification helps professionals work in multi-airport, multi-airline contexts.
- Career signal: Distinguishes supervisors and duty staff who can handle both operations and safety.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:
- Map and control the end-to-end aircraft turnaround using checklists and time markers.
- Apply ramp/apron safety rules, PPE, FOD control, and GSE positioning in line with IATA AHM/IGOM principles.
- Interface effectively with load control (LIR, LMC, load/trim readiness) and prevent misloads.
- Coordinate with passenger, baggage, and cargo teams to support on-time performance and service quality.
- Operate within an SMS / ISAGO-aligned safety and reporting framework, including occurrence/near-miss reporting.
- Use SLAs and KPIs (OTP, mishandled baggage, safety findings, training compliance) to drive performance.
- Document operations in an audit-ready manner for airlines, airports, and regulators.
