The diploma provides a clear foundation in coaching principles, mentoring concepts, communication skills, questioning techniques, goal-setting, feedback, relationship management, boundaries, and reflective practice.

Course Overview

The Whitestone International Diploma in Coaching & Mentoring is a structured 12-month programme designed to develop practical, ethical, and reflective competence in supporting others’ growth, performance, and development through coaching and mentoring relationships.

The diploma provides a clear foundation in coaching principles, mentoring concepts, communication skills, questioning techniques, goal-setting, feedback, relationship management, boundaries, and reflective practice. It emphasises how coaching and mentoring can be applied in workplaces, education, community settings, and professional practice to support individual and team development.

Learners will explore coaching and mentoring models at a vocational and accessible level, understand the stages of the coaching/mentoring cycle, and practise core skills such as active listening, powerful questioning, contracting, goal clarification, and action planning. The programme also addresses ethics, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and the responsible use of influence.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to conduct structured, ethically sound coaching or mentoring conversations, support coachees/mentees in clarifying their goals and options, and contribute to development initiatives in their organisations or communities.
