Development is a non-clinical, postgraduate-level leadership award for professionals responsible
for designing, commissioning, coordinating or improving mental-health and wellbeing provision in
organisations, education, communities and workplaces.
The programme integrates applied psychology awareness, mental-health systems thinking,
programme design, governance, quality assurance, data-informed improvement and change
leadership. It equips participants to:
- Lead and coordinate mental-health and wellbeing strategies,
- Design and implement evidence-informed services and programmes,
- Ensure governance, safeguarding, risk management and quality assurance, and

It does not train participants to diagnose or treat mental-health conditions. Instead, it develops
