Whitestone International Diploma in Football Management
The Whitestone International Diploma in Football Management is a 12-month vocational programme designed to provide a structured, practice-oriented foundation in the management, administration, commercial development, operations, governance awareness, and stakeholder coordination of football organisations.
Course Overview
The Whitestone International Diploma in Football Management is a 12-month vocational programme designed to provide a structured, practice-oriented foundation in the management, administration, commercial development, operations, governance awareness, and stakeholder coordination of football organisations.
The programme integrates four key dimensions:
- Football-industry foundations and club operations – understanding the structure of the football ecosystem, club departments, competitions, stakeholders, and operational responsibilities.
- Commercial management, marketing, fan engagement, and events – supporting sponsorship, partnerships, ticketing, merchandising, digital communication, matchday experience, and revenue-generation activity.
- People, performance-support, and talent-pathway coordination – understanding player pathways, academy administration, team logistics, welfare awareness, and the professional environment around football performance.
- Governance, safeguarding, risk, sustainability, and leadership – contributing to ethical, inclusive, well-governed, and resilient football organisations.
It is intended for individuals who work in, or aspire to work in, football clubs, academies, leagues, federations, football schools, sports agencies, event companies, community-football organisations, media teams, sponsorship functions, and football-development programmes.
Learners will explore how football organisations are structured and managed; how clubs deliver matches and events; how commercial, communications, operations, academy, welfare, and community teams collaborate; and how managers can support sustainable organisational development. The emphasis is on professional football-management capability, operational coordination, commercial awareness, ethical practice, and stakeholder engagement, rather than technical coaching, player-agent representation, medical practice, or regulatory decision-making.
This diploma is vocational and non-regulated. It does not qualify learners as licensed football coaches, player agents/intermediaries, medical professionals, safeguarding officers, match officials, lawyers, accountants, or authorised representatives of football associations, leagues, clubs, or governing bodies. It does not authorise learners to negotiate player contracts, undertake regulated representation, issue competition decisions, provide medical or legal advice, or independently lead safeguarding investigations. Such responsibilities require relevant licences, registration, employer authorisation, specialist qualifications, and compliance with applicable governing-body regulations, national law, and organisational policies.
