Whitestone International Diploma in UX/UI Design & Product Experience
The programme covers the complete user-experience design lifecycle: UX research foundations, user needs and journey analysis, information architecture, interaction and interface design, visual/UI design principles, prototyping and design systems, usability testing and iteration, and product-experience thinking in cross-functional teams.
Course Overview
The Whitestone International Diploma in UX/UI Design & Product Experience is a 12-month vocational programme that provides a structured, practice-oriented foundation in designing intuitive, accessible, and engaging digital experiences across web, mobile, and emerging platforms.
The programme covers the complete user-experience design lifecycle: UX research foundations, user needs and journey analysis, information architecture, interaction and interface design, visual/UI design principles, prototyping and design systems, usability testing and iteration, and product-experience thinking in cross-functional teams. It is designed for individuals who support, or aspire to support, UX/UI design, product design, digital product, and experience design roles in start-ups, agencies, in-house product teams, and service organisations.
Learners will explore how product teams understand users, shape product requirements, design flows and interfaces, validate ideas through prototypes and testing, and collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders. The emphasis is on practical design craft, evidence- informed decision-making, and collaboration, not on advanced human-computer interaction research, software engineering, or psychological/clinical practice.
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to contribute effectively to UX research activities (at foundational level), wireframing and interaction flows, UI design and component libraries, prototyping, usability testing support, and product-experience documentation, working alongside senior designers and product leaders.
This diploma is vocational and non-regulated. It does not qualify learners as licensed psychologists, clinical practitioners, software engineers, or accessibility certifiers, and does not authorise them to provide medical, legal, or regulatory advice, or to act as sole accountable product owners for safety- critical systems. Such responsibilities must only be undertaken by appropriately qualified and authorised professionals, in full compliance with applicable laws, standards, and organisational policies.
Why This Course is Important?
- Organisations compete on usability, accessibility, desirability, and overall product experience, not simply on features and technology.
- Effective UX/UI professionals must understand users, translate insights into structures and flows, design visually coherent interfaces, and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams.
- Digital transformation across finance, healthcare, education, retail, logistics, public services, and start-ups requires practitioners who can help design intuitive, human-centred digital products and services.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:
- Explain core concepts in user experience (UX), user interface (UI) design, and product experience at a vocational–intermediate level.
- Contribute to foundational UX research activities, including basic interviews, surveys, and observation under guidance.
- Develop user journeys, task flows, and information architectures that support user goals and business objectives.
- Create wireframes, interaction flows, and screen layouts using recognised UX/UI methods and tools.
- Apply visual design principles (layout, typography, colour, hierarchy) to produce coherent, on-brand UI designs at non-specialist level.
- Support prototyping and usability testing, interpreting results to inform design iterations under supervision.
- Collaborate effectively with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders, and prepare clear design specifications, documentation, and presentations.
Target Audience
- Individuals in or aspiring to roles such as Junior UX Designer, UI Designer (entry level), Product Designer (junior), Experience Designer, Interaction Designer (foundational), or Design Support Specialist.
- Staff in digital agencies, software companies, start-ups, internal product teams, innovation units, and service organisations involved in digital product development.
- Graduates and career changers seeking a structured pathway into UX/UI and product- experience design roles.
- Professionals in adjacent fields (e.g. graphic design, front-end development, marketing, business analysis) wishing to build formal UX/UI capabilities.
Entry Requirements
- A recognised higher secondary qualification, diploma, or equivalent, preferably with prior exposure to design, IT, media, psychology, business, or related disciplines
- Demonstrable interest in digital products, user experience, and design tools
- Proficiency in English (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent recommended) to engage with design briefs, research findings, and stakeholder communication
