Whitestone International Diploma in Nutrition and Health Coaching

The programme introduces key dimensions of basic nutrition science at awareness level, healthy eating patterns, lifestyle and wellbeing foundations, coaching principles and communication skills, goal-setting and habit change, cultural and life-stage considerations.

Course Overview

The Whitestone International Diploma in Nutrition and Health Coaching is a 12-month vocational programme designed to provide a structured, practice-oriented foundation in evidence-informed nutrition concepts and behaviour-based health coaching at a non-clinical level.

The programme introduces key dimensions of basic nutrition science at awareness level, healthy eating patterns, lifestyle and wellbeing foundations, coaching principles and communication skills, goal-setting and habit change, cultural and life-stage considerations, ethics and scope of practice, and referral to healthcare professionals. It is intended for individuals who wish to support clients, employees, learners, or community members in adopting healthier lifestyles, working strictly within clear, non-medical boundaries.

Learners will explore how to translate general healthy eating guidance, physical activity recommendations, sleep hygiene, and stress-management strategies into realistic, personalised action plans; how to coach rather than prescribe; and how to recognise when issues must be referred to qualified healthcare and nutrition professionals. The emphasis is on supporting everyday lifestyle improvements, not on diagnosing conditions, prescribing therapeutic diets, or treating disease.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to contribute effectively to wellbeing initiatives, workplace and community health promotion, and one-to-one or small-group health coaching conversations, in collaboration with regulated practitioners where necessary.

This diploma is vocational and non-regulated. It does not qualify learners as doctors, dietitians, clinical nutritionists, nurses, or any other regulated health professional. It does not authorise them to diagnose, treat, or manage medical conditions, to prescribe therapeutic diets, or to advise on complex clinical cases. All medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical nutrition or dietetic interventions must be undertaken only by appropriately qualified and licensed healthcare professionals, in line with national laws and professional standards.
