Advanced Professional Certificate in Nature, Biodiversity & TNFD Integration (Dependencies, Impacts & Metrics)
The Advanced Professional Certificate in Nature, Biodiversity & TNFD Integration builds the
capability to identify nature-related dependencies and impacts, quantify risks and opportunities, set
credible targets, and prepare investor-grade disclosures
Course Overview
The Advanced Professional Certificate in Nature, Biodiversity & TNFD Integration builds the
capability to identify nature-related dependencies and impacts, quantify risks and opportunities, set
credible targets, and prepare investor-grade disclosures aligned with the Taskforce on Nature-
related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). The programme combines the TNFD LEAP approach
(Locate–Evaluate–Assess–Prepare), double-materiality thinking, geospatial and value-chain data, and
decision-useful metrics—so organisations can integrate nature into strategy, risk, procurement, and
reporting.
Why This Course is Important?
- Investor and regulatory momentum: Nature risk is moving into mainstream disclosures alongside climate.
- Operational resilience: Understanding dependencies (e.g., water, pollination, soil) prevents supply disruptions and reputational harm.
- Strategic advantage: Biodiversity-positive design and sourcing create new markets, access to finance, and customer trust.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:
- Apply TNFD concepts and the LEAP process to map priority locations, sectors, and value- chain stages.
- Distinguish dependencies vs impacts and link them to nature-related risks and opportunities.
- Build a nature data model (sites, suppliers, basins, ecosystems) and manage geospatial/secondary datasets.
- Select decision-useful metrics and indicators (pressure, state, response; footprint and outcome metrics).
- Set and cascade targets (awareness of SBTN guidance) and align actions to strategy and governance.
- Integrate nature into ERM and procurement (policies, clauses, KRIs/KPIs, controls, and assurance readiness).
- Draft concise TNFD-aligned disclosures that interoperate with GRI and ESRS biodiversity expectations.
Target Audience
- Sustainability/ESG, Risk/ERM, Strategy and Corporate Reporting leaders
- Supply Chain/Procurement, Operations, HSE/Environment managers
- Finance/Investor Relations and Internal Audit
